Welcome to the Radial Diffraction Files!

These pages are an attempt by S. Merkel to create some sort of manual to study radial diffraction data for the inversion of stress or lattice preferred orientations. It's a Wiki, so registered users will be allowed to edit and add content to these pages.

Radial diffraction is used to study the plasticity of minerals under very high pressures. To learn about more about it, grab one of my papers (I recommend to start with the paper published in the Journal of Geophysical Research in 2002) on my bibliography page.

Basically, there are two ways to analysis radial diffraction data, they will be treated independently:

  • the first technique relies on individual peak fitting and manual data processing
  • the second way relies on the 2-D Rietveld package Maud.

This Wiki is powered by PmWiki. It's the first time I use a Wiki so don't I don't really know what to do with it. Anyway, it seems to be working!
